The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Requirement for a Chassis Engineer to work as part of the Plant Vehicle Team (PVT) on Premium SUV Architecture in the Solihull Plant. Reporting to the Chassis VRT Leader, the PVT Engineer will need to work with minimal supervision on all aspects of current car engineering. This regularly includes the resolution of Engineering issues using logical problem solving methodology and data analysis, ensuring product changes are validated robustly prior to introduction, and working closely with Manufacturing, Component Engineers and Suppliers to deliver quality/efficiency improvements. The role will provide the candidate the opportunities to engage in hands on fault diagnosis on vehicles and systems as well as within the plant on Manufacturing Engineering issues. The candidate needs to be self-motivated, flexible with hours of work and travel between plants may also be required at times.

3 key skills
1)Automotive background with understanding of Chassis and/or Electrical systems.
2)Strong IT skills (especially MS Excel)
3)Experience using established problem solving methodologies (e.g. 8D, DMAICR)"

Education Preferred: A Degree in Engineering (BEng, MEng, BSc) with Honours.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Experience Required: Applicants should be proactive and be able to demonstrate a good level of Chassis and/or Electrical Engineering knowledge/experience A good level of numeracy and analytical skills is important. Possession of good organisational, administration and communication skills is required in this fast moving role. A proven track record of delivery against targets/objectives. Practical skills and experience working with vehicles.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Experience Preferred: A background in design and development would be beneficial along with a working knowledge of Chassis and/or Electrical Systems. Knowledge/experience of using systems (e.g. AIMS, AWS, PAWS, WERS, FMS, Teamcentre) but training would be given as required. Experience of working in a Quality focussed role. Experience of working in a Production environment.
