The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Lead a cross functional team to define and verify a braking system that fulfils the Performance Attribute Targets and legal requirements.
In delivering this the candidate will: Be responsible for the setting, balancing and delivery of braking performance attribute targets
Carry out CAE and Virtual tool based analysis
Produce and deliver a time and resource optimized Design Verification Plan and, with the help of colleagues in the team, deliver CAE, vehicle and rig test programmes against the plan.
Lead the programme of vehicle track and road testing to assess braking system performance against attribute targets
With reference to braking performance attributes, identify issues and take ownership of those found by others, investigating their root cause and proposing engineering solutions.
Lead the development of optimized solutions to performance issues in collaboration with other attribute owners and component delivery groups.
Report performance against targets to management teams during the vehicle programme and ultimately sign off that the braking performance attributes have met programme targets.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years post-graduation industrial experience managing tasks where it is necessary to deploy structured thinking to resolve complex engineering and timing issues
Strong team leadership skills which will be demonstrated in the CV by a minimum 2 years in a team leadership position
Confident presentation style, able to deliver a succinct and confident message during routine programme and senior management reviews.
Presentation style will be assessed at interview.
Project management skills demonstrated by a track record of planning and delivering complex programmes either in an academic or industrial context
An understanding of automotive chassis systems (such as suspension structures) is essential in order to participate in attribute target balancing.
Full UK Cat B Driving Licence

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Braking system design to meet legal and internal performance targets for a given vehicle weights and performance
Minimum 2 years post-graduation industrial experience managing tasks where it is necessary to deploy structured thinking to resolve complex engineering and timing issues
Experience of modelling mechanical system interactions using simulation packages or Excel/VB ¿ Usage of 6-sigma disciplines (DMAIC Structure to problem resolution)
Six Sigma Green belt qualified
