The Role:
Scope
The Chassis Department are looking for Engineers in the following disciplines:
Tyre Development


Key Responsibilities
1. Support and Lead Development Design Development
Take the lead in Design & Development of technology in area of responsibility. Advanced ability to capture and specify the design requirements in area of responsibility. Lead the design and development for systems and components. Lead the Engineering test & validation planning and sign off for systems and components in area of responsibility. Lead Engineering release and change management process.

2. Delivery of projects
Responsible for planning and managing project related activities throughout a complete project development. Reporting of project status for area of responsibility in cross functional and project teams. Advanced understanding of cross functional working with other areas of the business. Lead and initiate working with suppliers for progressing project deliverables. Advanced financial awareness of their role in the organisation. Advanced knowledge of cost of parts and systems with an understanding of value Engineering.

3. Problem Solving
Ability to solve highly complex Engineering and Design related problems. Analysis and management of multiple design related issues to identify the root cause. Collect data, manage data and analyse data to produce reports as appropriate and progress design guidelines.

4. Developing and maintaining specialist knowledge
Responsible for keeping the functional area up to date with technology in area of responsibility. Capture learning fro previous experience. Work with group partners to influence VW group partners to keep up to date with latest group developments.

5. Ability to work within a team
Able to work effectively in the cross functional team. Lead contribution in delivering team objectives.

Qualifications
Engineering Degree or equivalent
Membership of a relevant professional institute and Chartered Engineer status preferable.

Previous Experience
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
Ability to communicate at various levels across the company in different forums
Design and development skills
Ability to influence colleagues within your area of responsibility
Understanding of financial limits within your are of responsibility
Skills required by local area
German language skills preferable
Ability to solve problems
Understanding of health & safety and capability to complete risk assessments in own area.
PRACTICAL & TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE:

Knowledge of Design and Development, Test and Measurement, Engineering Drawings, Software tools
Understanding of Product Emergence Process (PEP)
