The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for progressing steering subsystem designs from concept to production:

* To lead component Module Technical Teams to ensure that project build and gateway requirements are achieved on time.
* Manage component engineering releasing.
* Facilitate problem resolution.
* Creating and evaluating engineering sign-off plans, development plans, design specifications and drawings as appropriate.
* Liaising with suppliers and cross functional teams to define targets and ensure that components perform to requirements.
* Apply quality methods and tools to component delivery e.g. FMEA.


Experience Required:
Ability to run a component engineering team (Module Technical Team) using processes including WERS releasing, AIM, APQP, PCDS, FMEA, DVP&R, RMDV
* Ability to develop engineering solutions, which meet, defined targets.
* Ability to evaluate the performance and merits of designs from suppliers or service partners to ensure that requirements are satisfied.
* Self-motivated, able to achieve results with minimal supervision.
* Good team working, organisation and communication skills, able to foster good working relationships with Purchasing/ STA and suppliers.
* Good PC skills, proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
* Must be flexible with regard to multi-site working and be prepared to travel abroad if required.
* Full driving licence.
* Good presentation skills to represent steering team within the project/program and senior review forums.

1.Strong engineering / product development background.
2.Strong ability at using engineering processes, including releasing activities.
3.Strong team working skills

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Experience of steering systems desirable.
