The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
SVO Chassis engineering manager required to manage a large team of engineers delivering multiple SVO chassis commodities to support the SVO cycle plan. You will be a manager involved in the development and delivery of chassis commodities for vehicle production. One of the key activities of this role is ensuring delivery discipline to the on-going multiple SVO live chassis projects and management of meeting engineering gateways on time. You will be managing around 30 chassis engineers,working with and alongside other SVO teams delivering SVO chassis products to JLR processes and test standards and requirements. You will be working alongside another manager within the team and will report into the Senior SVO chassis manager. The typical products delivered by the engineering team are :Wheels, tyres, suspension systems, brakes, uprights, bracing, Anti-roll bars, control arms, all typical chassis commodities & also some chassis accessories for dealer fitment. You will also be involved in the management of offshore support for SVO chassis engineering activities.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Proven engineering delivery discipline to tight deadlines
Chassis engineering knowledge and experience
Proven record of managing an engineering team and excellent communication and presentation skills
Engineering product development experience required, used to working within and driving a team of engineers, the key to this role is engineering delivery discipline -ensuring work is done on time to related project timing and cost.
Proven track record of completing a similar role essential.
You will have around 30 direct engineering reports so will need to deal with day to day activities involved in managing a large team, ensuring staff training needs are met and on target as well as potential to hire more SVO engineering staff if needed to support the on-going SVO product delivery role.
This is an exciting role, tough in terms of juggling multiple projects and tight timing and requires very good communication and presentation skills at all levels.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Knowledge of process and systems, proven team leader of engineers. Engineering degree qualified with good automotive /chassis technical knowledge is desirable, however no degree will be considered based upon work experience and knowledge.
