The Role:
Proactively provide Technical Support to Phenol/Acetone manufacturing at Deer Park

The following is a broad description of what will be included in the job deliverables. However the individual will shape this to some extent according to his/her own special skills and the business needs.

1. Proactively provide Technical Support to Phenol/Acetone manufacturing site. This includes the responsibility for agreement on Customer programs/resources, providing expertise, organizing and sourcing contribution of other experts carrying out reviews, and delivering High Quality Services. On key service will be the continuation of the Accelerated Technical Monitoring Program.
2. Provide technological guidance to new projects. This includes the critical review and evaluation of the various technologies considered for a project with extensive discussion with technology providers, risk analysis, technical specifications, etc..
3. Continue to develop know-how and expertise in the Phenol technology. This includes the ability to understand the Business and Manufacturing objectives and constraints.
5. Identify, develop and manage Standards, Guidelines and Successful practices within the Phenol teams.
6. As the P&T Phenol representative, lead or participate in joint studies for improving performance (benchmarking studies gap closure reviews, reliability improvement teams etc.. )
7. Participate in the global technology team. This may include the Best Practice Network and/or Process Safety Network.

Will ordinarily work in conjunction with one or more engineers or chemists in the conduct of work plans.

Will work closely with plant technical support staff in problem solving efforts to assure that operational performance meets business needs.

Will provide technical support to the supported businesses through participation in multifunctional teams and direct contact with key members of the Phenol Business.

Will support the Phenol business efforts regarding Product Stewardship by providing technical advice to Safety Audits of customers and participation is emergency drills conducted by the business in support of customers.

Will coordinate activities with counterparts in the Center of Expertise (COE) and Regional Manufacturing Support (RMS) teams.

Develop a personal global network. Fully exploit existing networks and competences.
Deliver high quality services to customers by seeking a clear understanding of technological problems, plants/customer needs and project requirements.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
20+ yrs of Phenol process engineering experience in Manufacturing and/or Technology

5+ yrs Manufacturing experience required.

BS, MS or PhD in Chemical Engineering

Demonstrated evidence of Enterprise first values and behaviours will be taken into account during the selection process.

The successful candidate will be expected to immediately contribute to the Phenol team. A depth of knowledge in the Phenol technology area is required for this role.
