The Role:
The lab aims to deliver integrated solutions to ensure our continued safe, reliable and compliant operations. The lab has approximately 20 members to the staff consisting of lab techs, chemists, lab supervisors, and the lab manager. The facility was built in late 2010 and is one of, if not, the best lab facility the Operator has around the world. The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of the team by providing key technical support to projects and operations in the area of production chemistry, provide strategic input to technology planning, develop and implement segment wide continuous improvement projects and help to ensure the health of the discipline within the segment.

Key accountabilities
• To act as subject matter expert in the area assigned
• To provide assurance to Projects and Operations that risks are being proactively managed
• Develop and maintain practice in the area assigned
• Engaging with engineering discipline teams as appropriate to convey understanding of key risks/threats to Major Projects.
• Supporting operating assets in a consultancy role in all areas assigned
• Provide assurance to Projects and Operations that all risks are being proactively managed.
• Developing and maintain internal technical practices and guidance documents (including training).
• Be proactive in identifying opportunities through the themes of Continuous Improvement and Discipline Excellence
• Demonstrate leadership and compliance with HSSE expectations

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.
• Working knowledge of key production chemistry software tools
• Broad range of technical skills and operations experience in Production Chemistry
• Experience in the development and interaction of staff at all levels
• Demonstrated commitment to HSSE
• High level of oral and written communications skills
• Excellent organizational, planning, and prioritizing abilities
