The Company:
Our Client is the world leader in the Mining and Minerals / Resource industry. With over 120 years experience in the world's largest resource projects, our Client currently invests over $1bn per month into Australia's rapidly expanding mining market. A fantastic opportunity has now arisen for a Chief Advisor to work from the company’s Brisbane Technology & Innovation PMO (Project Management Office).

The Role:
CHIEF ADVISOR – MAJOR CAPITAL PROJECTS – BRISBANE, AUSTRALIA - $$HIGH END + SUPER + CAR
GREENFIELD DEVELOPMENT & EXECUTION OF PROJECTS TO COMPLETE HANDOVER
PROJECT & GUIDANCE BASED ROLE

This role will be very involved and you will undertake a number of key responsibilities, to include but not be limited to:

• Ensuring projects are constantly and consistently reviewed against project targets and expectations
• Lead strategic support for major projects ($bn capital projects) - providing leadership, advice and strategic support to major projects
• Reporting project information, including guidance on current issues and recommendations to keep projects on track, back to the Project Board and Group Advisor of Projects. (strong presentation and written communication skills required).
• Influencing projects to continue against deadlines or change scope to meet project deadlines as well as meeting the overall project scope.
• Ensuring projects are lead and driven from study stage right the way through to completion and hand-over – a full lifecycle approach is mandatory
• Partner project delivery including P/L / budgetary controls alongside the Project management teams, Chief Advisors and Group Advisor.
• Delivering the project commercial focus, optimising and sustaining value
• Between 10 - 15 years relevant experience with mining operations involving a blend of technical and production roles

Key requirements for this role:

If you possess the following, we are keen to speak with you:

• Demonstrative track record of managing full lifecycle projects with a minimum capital value of $1bn – from study right through to delivery and handover.
• The ability to review projects against expected targets, regularly performing health-checks, where necessary and reporting full project updates to an advisory board
• A degree of domestic and international travel is required (typically 20-30% annually) and therefore a degree of flexibility to travel overseas is required.
