The Company:
The company is now among the Top 20 upstream companies in the North Sea and, as well as operations in the UK and Norway, also has offices in Russia and Algeria.

The Role:
• Leading the Geophysics Discipline team in E&P
• Responsibility for all geophysical discipline activities like geophysical data acquisitions, processing and quantitative geophysics
• Ensuring high geophysical quality in all elements of G&G evaluation in E&P
• Member of the E.ON E&P Exploration & Geosciences management team
• Lead and manage the Geophysics team with permanent staff in UK and Norway
• Create, implement and maintain geophysical processes and procedures as part of the E&P wide BMS
• Define and lead the geophysical QA & QC processes in E&A
• Drive HSEQ excellence in geophysical operations
• Identify and champion key geophysical technologies
• Be geophysical focal point for IT and act as Geophysical DITC
• Be Geophysics T&I focal point
• Give geophysical advice to BD and asset teams (i.e. other teams within exploration + D&P assets) and provide expert support as required
• Run geophysical operations on behalf of the asset teams.
• Provide geophysical resources to BD and asset teams as required.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• MSc or PhD in Geophysics or related discipline
• At least 10 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry
• Strong and proven competence and track-record in key geophysics topics like seismic acquisition, processing and rock physics / AvO
• Strong HSE awareness and focus, and good handle on procurement processes, budgeting and cost control
• Prior team leader experience a plus.
• Good leadership and people management skills
• Strong geophysical competence
• Good communication skills, both written and oral for effective liaison with various stakeholder
• Ability to integrate well with other discipline and exploration teams.
