The Role:
Role Synopsis:

This position is responsible for the development of inspection programs, as well as the analysis of data generated by the programs for the purpose of determining risk, reliability and life of process piping, facilities equipment, and cross-country pipelines. This position will work within a multi-discipline team setting that develops strategies and tactical plans, assesses mechanical integrity of equipment, measures the effectiveness of the corrosion management program and provides feedback to operations, new development teams, regulatory agencies and networks throughout the company.

This position requires significant interaction with the North Slope CIC Team, Operations, Engineering, and Maintenance groups. Good interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team setting are essential.

A high level of computer proficiency is required. Ability to use and extract data from a Mechanical Integrity Management Information Repository (MIMIR) Database, analyze data for trends and program status, and prepare written and oral reports to management are essential elements for success. Proficiency with Excel, Access, Industry inspection data bases, PowerPoint and Business Objects reporting tools are a plus.

The position will be based in Anchorage with the expectation that the successful candidate be able to travel to the North Slope periodically.
This position is part of a team who are responsible for overall management of inspection programs for piping system (well lines, flow lines and facility nipping) for Company’s North Slope Business Units. In addition, the position is responsible for assuring compliance with Regulatory requirements.

This position works within a multi-functional team setting that assesses plant integrity based on the direct inspection and testing of equipment and process monitoring, and develops measures to maintain integrity through applied corrosion control techniques. This position will also have responsibility for involvement in determining fitness for service of pressure piping systems and repair recommendations.

This position requires significant daily interaction with the departmental multi-disciplined teams, and Operations and Maintenance staff for the Company Alaska business units. Good interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team setting are essential.

The CIC group supports all of Company’s North Slope Operations.

Key Accountabilities

• Perform analysis of NDE data to determine trends, conditions, and equipment life
• Develop inspection program strategies for the numerous corrosion and mechanical integrity programs for the North Slope operations
• Provide timely reports of program status
• Prepare and coordinate inspection program budget
• Identify and quantify risks and areas for program improvement
• Develop and track key performance indicators to monitor technical performance of the integrity program
• Prepare reports as required and present findings to CIC clients as required
• Set inspection program schedule in coordination with North Slope CIC team, NDE alliance contractor, and Operations
• Provide management summaries of inspection surveys, findings, recommendations
• Develop, update procedures and practices for integrity assessment programs
• Work with team members to develop an integrated approach to mechanical integrity assessment, corrosion control, and piping rehabilitation requirements
• Establish criteria and coordinate selection of inspection locations
• Prepare and present quarterly and year end summary presentations to Management

Travel % required Yes – up to 10%

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
5 years direct experience in Upstream oilfield corrosion or Downstream refining in process equipment inspection activities.

Must have one of the following:

• BS in Engineering
• BS or AAS Technical Degree and approximately 5 or more years of field experience in process plant inspection activities.
• High school education and approximately 10 or more years of field experience in pipeline (preferred) or process plant inspection activities.

Strong consideration will be given to candidates with significant years of relevant inspection experience in lieu of degree or diploma. These candidates are expected to possess:

• An understanding of various corrosion mechanisms.
• A basic understanding of basic Mechanical Engineering concepts related to piping.
• Familiarity with field activities related to pipe or pipeline repairs
