Our client is a leading global oil and gas operating company.
The Role:
The position of Technical Aide will be based in the Corrosion, Inspection and Chemicals (CIC) team in Anchorage. The Technical Aide will support CIC in implementation of a system and circuit structure for North Slope facilities. The position will support and liaison with Site Specialists on the North Slope relating to verification of project work in the field.
The Technical Aide will also undertake special projects in data management or data collection as assigned.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Technical Aide will be responsible to define and enter piping systems and circuits into the corrosion database and associate existing inspection data to the newly entered system and circuit structure. This includes quality control of existing walkdown data to assure accuracy and consistency. The position will liaise with the Site Specialists on the North Slope and Corrosion Engineers completing threat assessments.
DELIVERABLES:
- Review development of piping systems and circuits from P&IDs
- Complete quality control check of field walkdown information for accuracy and consistency;
- Complete data entry of verified piping systems and circuits into the corrosion database;
- Associate existing inspection data in the corrosion database to the system structure.
Essential Skills / Qualifications:
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE:
- Minimum 5 years experience in Upstream oil and gas operations
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings (P&IDs, PFDs, Piping Plans, Isometric and Civil)
- Proficient computer skills and familiarity with use of MS Excel and Word
- Ability to locate and query data from internal Company systems (MIMIR, EDDI, Atlas GIS, Scada)
- Attention to detail
- Strong oral and written communication skill

- Ability to work well independently with minimal direct oversight upon completion of training.
Travel is not required; however, an occasional trip to the North Slope may prove valuable to gain an understanding of field operations and program implementation.
Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE:
Specific experience in one or more of the following:
- Basic knowledge of 3-phase oil processing
- System & Circuit development (per API 570 standards);
- Corrosion Control / Material Selection;
- Non-Destructive Testing;
- Risk Based Assessment / Inspection.
