The Company:
Our client is a Multinational Chemical company which will construct, own and operate a world-scale integrated chemicals complex in Saudi Arabia. Once completed, the complex will represent the largest petrochemical facility ever built in a single phase. Our client will establish a world-scale manufacturing footprint that delivers a full range of value-added, performance products destined for the emerging markets of Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Eastern Europe and Africa.

The Role:
Provide Civil & Structural Engineering support for production, Maintenance, Reliability and PID department through addressing existing equipment issues and new equipment design in order to optimize efficiency, safety, quality and cost effectiveness.
1. Responsible for Civil & Structural Engineering support for maintenance, reliability and operation departments.
2. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publication; establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies.
3. Assist in conducting training sessions for operators, engineers and technicians in Civil & Structural Engineering.
4. Coordinate and participate in site Civil & Structural Engineering safety and reliability audits. Ensure adherence to environmental regulations and Safety Loss Prevention principles are carefully considered.
5. Support:
• Production department
-Provide Civil & Structural Engineering support
• Maintenance department
-Provide Civil & Structural engineering support on maintenance projects and repairs
-Provide technical assistance and resolution /troubleshooting support
-Evaluate repair proposals for sound Civil & Structural Engineering practice and conformance with established safety and design criteria, and recommend approval or disapproval.
-Participate in fit for service evaluations of new and repaired Civil & Structural Engineering equipment
• Reliability department
-Provide technical assistance and resolution /troubleshooting support in RCI
-Participate in the review of the PPM program for maintenance goal alignment.
• PID department
-Provide Civil & Structural Engineering field support on construction projects
-Support PID department with preparation of project cost and work estimates, development of scope and material take-offs to support project estimates. Assist with analyse tasks to determine estimates of man-hours, materials and resources needed for successful and timely completion of project requirements.
-Evaluate vendors and engineering proposals for sound Civil & Structural Engineering practice and conformance with established safety and design criteria, and recommend approval or disapproval.
-Participate in fit for service evaluations of new Civil & Structural Engineering equipment
• Procurement department
-Evaluate vendors and service providers.
6. Design structures and partner with experienced engineers and designers in multi-discipline team environment. Exchange technical information with peers, other engineering disciplines, and suppliers.
7. Develop scope and material take-offs to support project estimates. Analyse tasks to determine estimates of man-hours, materials and resources needed for successful and timely completion of project requirements.
8. Perform structural design and analysis calculation using governing codes and standards and utilization of design tools such as Structure Analysis and Design (STAAD) and PC-MAT.
9. Provide technical support and technical guidance on construction projects when requested by the Owner’s Representative or plant personnel.
10. Ensure that environmental regulations and Safety and Loss Prevention principles are considered in design.
11. Coordinate with parent company and / or licensor to ensure Sadara specifications are updated with applicable changes.
12. Review existing designs and independently evaluate and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria in making adaptations and modifications, as required.
13. Perform any job-related activities as requested by the immediate supervisor/manager.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
• Proficient in AUTOCAD CIVIL 3D.
