The Company:
Our client is a large multi-national Oil and Gas Operator which explores, develops, produces and markets crude oil, gas and sulfur. They pride themselves on conducting operations in accordance with world–class safety and environmental standards.

The Role:
This position provides site supervision for small to medium scale civil construction projects.
Projects range from simple to complex, multi-faceted and range in value from $250M to $5MM.
Supervision responsibilities include, onsite SAFETY audits, participation in NEAR MISS and SAFETY OBSERVATION programs. Assurance that all Company and local governmental policies are enforced and adhered to.

Essential Position Functions:
Participate in NEAR MISS and SAFETY OBSERVATION programs;
Provide guidance and mentoring for National Employees in selected discipline;
Review job packs to ensure constructability of the work;
Review material takeoffs to ensure all materials required for the job are available prior to start of the work;
Monitor Contractors’ personnel to ensure adherence to safe work practices;
Develop good working knowledge of contract terms and ensures Contractor compliance with contract terms & conditions;
Capable of reading and understanding engineering drawings (PFD, P & I D) for assigned discipline;
Control quantity of Contractor equipment and personnel assigned to reimbursable jobs to maximize work execution efficiency and minimize overall cost;
Monitor quality of construction work performed by Contractor and ensures adherence to project specifications, codes, and AFC drawings;
Review Contractors’ time tickets and invoices for accuracy;
Review accuracy of As-Built information supplied by the Contractor;
Interface with the appropriate departments within Company to obtain work permits;
Interface with appropriate Project Engineer(s) on technical issues to ensure project objectives are met;
Participate in final job reviews with Operations;
Compile necessary project closeout information;

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Degree or equivalent from a University or Technical institute, preferably in engineering or industrial sciences.
Lead by example in SAFETY. Willing to participate and promote SAFE OPERATIONS at all times. May be asked to Mentor/Advise Construction Reps on technical issues. Ability to work on several projects at once and interface with other disciplines.
Must have extensive work experience in civil construction. Experience may be in construction, construction management, quality control, or commissioning.
Working knowledge of industry codes governing work in assigned discipline. Familiar with industry codes governing work in other disciplines.
Must have handled projects ranging in value from $500M to $3MM.
Must have a valid international driving permit.
Must have demonstrated leadership abilities.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Experience in an International location is desirable. Supervising numerous small to medium sized projects is typical. Because of the complexity of the facilities, a background of both upstream and downstream experience is desirable, but not a must. Experience with sour gas or processing facilities is also desirable.
Ability to learn or speak Russian is an asset, but not a requirement.
Prior supervisory experience desireable.
Must have an understanding of project scheduling, cost tracking and contractor evaluations.
