The Company:
Our client, a major international Engineering, Procurement & Construction company, requires expertise for their ongoing mega-projects in Alberta.

This position is open to Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents only.

The Role:
Work constructability suggestions with contractor and engineering reps to resolution

Review estimates completed on constructability suggestions to verify accuracy

Ensure contractor representation on squad check matrices and participation in squad check process

Attend weekly meetings and follow constructability suggestions to closure

Communicate/report out to the constructability team on area constructability issues

Monitor the constructability log for each area and ensure timely progress is being made and updates are current

Provide technical background and verification to engineering on construction matters

Facilitate a productive working relationship between the contractors and engineers

Key role in reactivating area/silo constructability suggestions that have stalled or for promoting constructability suggestions that are site wide issues.

Review weekly contractor constructability reports and follow-up actions as required

Ensure contractor constructability input is happening in a timely fashion and that the contractor is not causing unnecessary engineering rework

Provide constructability input to the engineering design

Get involved in reviews (I.E. of procurement deliverables, contracting strategies, etc.) to provide construction input. It is assumed it is often more appropriate to have the CM complete these tasks rather than the contractor for confidentiality reasons, impartiality, etc.

Complete drawing reviews of drawings within the construction managers area of responsibility

Take a leadership role in actioning adhoc constructability reviews. These are reviews that ""come up"" that need to have a specific, focused review. For example a constructability review of deep undergrounds has been identified by IORVL as a ""must have review"" once the deliverables are available.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Completion of college diploma in related field

7+ years of experience supporting construction management for major projects

Excellent communication and organizational skills
