The Company:
Our Client, an Iron Ore Joint Venture, is a partnership between global business leaders; working with a major Iron Ore Operator on its multi-billion dollar growth plans in Western Australia.

The Role:
Our Client's Port team requires a Site based Civil Engineer to provide high level technical support. The successful candidate will also provide input in relation to design and engineering services for civil and structural engineering projects including earthworks, roads, dams, drainage, water supply and buildings.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

§ Ensure all civil and structural engineering project work complies with statutory and regulatory requirements and company policies and practices.
§ Prepare schedules for design work and allocating physical and human resources to enable civil and structural engineering projects to be completed on time and within budget.
§ Prepare of preliminary and detailed designs, specifications and documentation for all civil and structural engineering project work and ensure project work complies with conditions and parameters set out in project scope of works.
§ Liaise with other department engineers and draftspersons to ensure project goals are met.
§ Participate in technical reviews of all procurement and construction contract packages.
§ Provide progress monitoring and reporting as required
§ Undertake scope control and trending of scope changes as needed
§ Undertake engineering support for the contracts
§ Meet assigned dates for engineering deliverables

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
§ Ability to undertake design and engineering of concepts
§ Port related marine design and or construction would be an advantage
Understanding equipment application
§ Ability to assess project risks and understand associated contingencies
§ Ability to impart skills and train others
§ Strong organisational skills
§ Ability to delegate tasks and communicate
§ Ability to implement cost control measures
§ Previous experience on EPCM Projects
