The Company:

The Role:
Working closely with the Civil Operations Manager and Civil Quantity Surveyor to ensure the business and project standards:
• Lead civil engineering aspects of tenders and pricing in accordance with company procedures.
• Identify opportunity and risk during the tender process.
• Attend site visits and tender meetings (internal and external).
• Ensure civil tender input to capture team is in accordance with strict deadlines.
• Review and understand client and designer specifications, raise queries and ensure compliance throughout the tender.
• Ensuring the adherence to the relevant codes of practice for UK civil works and buildings.
• Liaise with the local business unit to agree methodology and principals.
• Maintain a register of key assumptions within estimates and pricing.
• Provide indicative pricing support for business development.
• Build and maintain pricing / estimating databases and ensure outturn costs are captured and fed back through the system.
• Liaise with supply chain for pricing purposes, develop and maintain relationships.
• Provide detailed feedback to supply chain.
• Develop and give advice on procurement models / options relating to civil engineering.
• Advise on programme allowances applicable to civil engineering activities.
• Maintain knowledge of site based costs, process and construction methods.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Project Management experience
Tendering expereince
Large project experience

• Demonstrable experience in main civil engineering contractor environment.
• Educated as a minimum to Batchelors Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Understanding of reinforced concrete structures, roadworks, drainage, , M&E, steel framed clad buildings essential.
• CSCS card holder at Manager / Professional level.


• Will be focused on value engineering, ensuring full consultation with all interested parties.
• Follow all designated work flow procedures and add value by introducing new consulted procedures.
• Must offer flexible approach to work tasks and in accordance with strict tender timescales.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
NEBOSH certificate
