The Company:
Our client is one of the most successful global energy suppliers in the world.

The Role:
- Providing technical advice and support on the design, construction and modification of civil and structural components, supports, drains, roads and buildings, vendor identification, procurement strategies, and cost estimates.
- Investigate, design and implement repair of civil and structural components.
- Provide discipline support to project Engineers/Managers and lead discipline-specific small engineering teams.
- Delegates organizes and supervise work of other Civil/Structural Engineer grads.

Key Result Areas
- Defines and Work independently on newly identified Engineering problems. Prepares Designs and Engineering specifications for building modifications, additional platforms, water systems and other civil works. Selects and approve materials for construction and repair. Co-ordinates with specialist process and maintenance for impact and suitability of selected systems and materials on plant operating conditions and maintenance of various plant components.
- Occupies the role of the company’s chief engineer in the discipline Responsible for setting and maintaining corporate standards and procedures in civil and structural engineering. Keeps abreast of latest deve4lopments and advances in relevant technology and international standards.
- Supervises designs and implementation of non-routine critical applications. Runs appropriate what-if scenarios and option analyses. Co-ordinates with Plant Operations and adheres to EHS policies, suggesting improvements where applicable.
- Works with the Project Department and serves as team leader on projects in the civil, structural area. Produces basis of design, tender scope of works, organises bidding and evaluations. Oversees construction to meet project objectives within budget and on time.
- Oversees approval of all excavation hot and cold work permits. Co-operates with Plant Operations and EHS to make sure work in the vicinity of underground facilities is done safely and in accordance with Company procedures and Safety guidelines. As and owner of the underground facilities drawings, keeps track of modifications.
- Mentors graduate civil, structural, construction and building engineers. Trains engineers in use of specialised equipment. Assists engineers in updating design methods and tools Facilitates, core training courses.
- Delegates and Organizes work to other Civil/Structural Engineers, Grads and contractors

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
- Chartered Engineer; Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering, MSc in Concrete Technology and PhD in Structural Engineering.
- 10 to 15 years experience in leading design teams for design of manufacturing/production facilities, bridges and buildings. Hands on experience in design, repair, material testing and maintenance of civil components, preferably in Oil & Gas Industry.
- 5 to 10 years experience on the diagnoses of deteriorated structures and civil components, design and implementation of repair.
- 2 to 5 years experience in construction sites of buildings and bridges, preferable including offshore structures.
