The Company:
Our Client is an Oil & Gas Operating Company.

The Role:
The position will be a role to provide civil and geotechnical advice to support the development and engineering design of facilities during the initial project selection, pre-FEED and Front End development phases of projects as required.

• Demonstrate visible leadership and commitment to excellent HSSE performance in support of the Groups accountabilities,
• Produce civil and geotechnical scopes of work and specifications as necessary to progress the projects through their development stages.
• Review consultants, contractors and subcontractors scopes of work, method statements, specifications and plans as needed.
• Participate in methodology, constructability and HSSE-related reviews.
• Contribute to opportunity/project risk workshops.
• Monitor progress of the development of civil and geotechnical deliverables from consultants and contractors and propose corrective actions in the event of potential schedule overrun where necessary.
• Undertake inspections of civil and geotechnical works in the field as required.
• Prepare technical and progress reports to support flow of key information to management to assist in decision making.
• Contribute to the management of change process in terms of engineering reviews and potential changes and variation order proposals relating to civil and geotechnical engineering.
• Assist with the process for design verification by a third party.
• Participate in peer assists and peer reviews.
• Participate in the procurement process (e.g. ITT requisition packages) through the evaluation of technical submissions.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Experience with Civil and Geotechnical engineering design and construction activities.
• Experience of planning geotechnical investigations and foundation, including pile design is a requirement.
• Knowledge of earthquake engineering and Seismic Hazard Analysis is required.
• Experience of LNG tank foundation design is preferred.
• Experience with the civil engineering design aspects of large process facilities is a requirement.
LNG facility design experience is preferred.
• Experience of both FEED and detailed design work is preferred.
• Engineering Degree.
• Chartered/Professional Civil or Geotechnical Engineer Preferred
• Ability to work with a wide variety of individuals.
• Ability to be self motivated and perform work with minimal instruction.
• Good oral and written English language skills are essential
• Good ability in the use of Microsoft computer software skills (e.g. word. Excel) is required.

Based in Houston with infrequent visits to project sites.
