The Role:
Our client is seeking an experienced Civil Engineering Senior Engineer working as part of the Client Team responsible for Engineering Assurance of the onshore compression stations and major pipeline in Contractors Offices.

Potential to relocate to site in Georgia for early works and major construction contracts.
The Project team is responsible for the design and construction of compression stations and 60 km of 56” pipeline in Georgia. The Project is currently being engineered by contractors in Paddington, Central London, and this is where the Client Project Team is co-located for Define Phases.

The Civil Project Engineer is part of the Client Engineering Team reporting to the Engineering Manager, and working closely with the Senior Geotechnical Lead Engineer. The role has responsibility for ensuring that the civil engineering aspects of the facilities and pipelines are designed and constructed safely and in conformance with the requirements of Client Major Project Common Process, International and Client Group Standards.

The role will involve working in close co-operation with a large number of groups including the Client Project Manager, the Facilities and Pipeline Delivery Managers, and the Operations Groups in Azerbaijan and Georgia. In particular the role will involve the close monitoring and response to the requirements of the large Project team who have had a continuous involvement in pipeline projects since their inception.

The successful candidate will be expected to have:-
thorough technical grounding in civil engineering foundation design
pipeline and or facility construction experience
high project engineering capability
high degree of interpersonal skills.

Experience and knowledge of trenchless pipeline crossing techniques using directional drilling and tunnelling will be of considerable advantage in performing this role.

While the primary focus of the role is also expected that the Pipeline Project Engineer will also have some involvement with the Project also being engineered in parallel by the Client Project Team and contract. This project will construct 65 km of 21” replacement pipeline sections including four major river crossings.. and two large compression stations in Georgia and Azerbaijan.

The role has the opportunity to transition into a rotational posting based in Tbilisi and on site in Georgia starting with the major levelling and access road works for the Early Works Contract, and following up with the Compressor Station construction and the onshore pipelines.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Chartered Status Graduate Engineer
10 to 15 years experience of design and construction experience
