The Role:
Job Description: • Reviews detailed layout and design of projects for technical accuracy, compliance, completeness and feasibility to governing codes and requirements. • Establishes technical guidelines, devises new approaches, applies existing criteria in new manners This position is responsible for Civil/Structural engineering and design deliverables during pre-FEED, FEED and detailed Engineering of the project facilities. The position might transition into execution team during construction if there is a need. The work involves critical analysis of basic and detailed engineering design for the following: • site preparation & layouts • equipment foundations, piling • roads and pads • field piping and pipe supports, pipe racks • drainage systems etc. • industrial and office buildings • warehouses and maintenance shops

Education: BS Engineering required
Experience: 15+ years

Preferred Skills: • Involvement in major upstream/downstream capital projects with experience in design, procurement, fabrication, construction, and installation. • 15+ years of experience, Strong Civil/Structural engineering background (e.g. Site preparation & layouts, Foundations, Piling, Pipe racks, Fire proofing, u/g facilities, drainage system, Storage Tanks, etc.). • Demonstrated proficiency with the following industry codes ACI, ASCE, ASTM Codes and CE Standards & Specifications. • Experienced with critical analysis of basic and detailed engineering design, including equipment foundations, piling, structural steel, equipment layout, operability and constructability review. • HAZID / HAZOP experience. • Ability to work in and ensure that Incident & Injury Free (IIF) culture is reflected in facility design and all phases of project execution • Experience in use of - Safety in Design (SID) manual will be bonus • Ability to effectively monitor the engineering process in a contractor’s office. • Ability to interface with other engineering disciplines, and other teams involved in the project. • Ability to work well within a multinational team • Ability to interact and communicate with engineering contractors and management as necessary.



Responsibilities for this position include:

1. Providing strong leadership and technical direction during pre-FEED, FEED, and EPCI execution by assisting in the oversight of the civil engineering discipline. Includes oversight of civil and structural design as well as related studies and deliverables, support, installation, testing and commissioning. 2. Lead civil and structural specifications review and development 3. Assisting in the management of the work scope including progress, cost, and quality monitoring, in addition to communications and interfaces. 4. Coordinating civil and structural related work activities of Company and contractor individuals and teams as required. Coordination of other work activities maybe required as well. 5. Providing cost estimates, participating in schedule reviews, and participating in value-improving-practices as required by the project. 6. Working well within multinational environments including the client and non Operators representative teams, international contractors, and Kuwait government representatives. 7. Working closely with project's interface coordinator in managing discipline intra-project interfaces as well as the interfaces with other JO project team such as CGUP, MGC upgrade and AL-Kazan gas project teams, JO facility engineering teams, equipment suppliers, and contractors as required to facilitate civil and structural integration into final system design as well as during fabrication, installation, construction, commissioning, and start-up. 8. Committing to working with in the Incident and Injury Free (IIF) culture of the project. This is to be reflected during the everyday work processes, system design, facility installation, construction, commissioning, and start-up. 9. Participating as a subject matter expert in the following reviews: operability and maintainability, constructability reviews, HAZIDS, HAZOPS, and other reviews and workshops as required.
