The Company:
Our Client is a global leading Oil & Gas Operating Company

The Role:
Evaluates / comments on civil work performed by the Contractor and sub-contractors to insure that the work is being executed in accordance with project specifications, Client standards, and regulatory requirements. Facilitates effective execution of civil engineering and design routines that align with the project's, goals, objectives, and procedures. Assures accurate and timely communication among the Functions on civil engineering activities, progress, and issues. Also responsible to oversee the contractors’ production of the required civil/ structural deliverables within the project budget and schedule.

Responsibilities and duties:

• Evaluate / comment work performed by the Contractor and sub-contractors to insure that the work is being executed in accordance with project specifications, Client standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Review of civil design drawings and documents
• Evaluate and process Contractors queries, deviation requests, change requests, etc. in accordance with Project change management processes
• Support the Lead Engineer by coordinating/communicating various issues among the Owner's engineering team that affect the civil/structural engineering design, safety, and regulatory compliance of the work
• Keep Lead Engineer informed of civil engineering progress, deviations, and execution concerns
• Participate in civil engineering reviews at Contractor's and subcontractor's locations
• Provide input to Engineering lead for reporting including preparation of weekly reports, progress reports, technical reports, charts, sketches, etc.
• Steward the detailed design contractors’ activities with respect to civil/structural engineering execution including:
 Ensure contractor complies with engineering execution plans, procedures, objectives, and overall job requirements
 Ensure that the contractor provides all contract deliverables, including those referred to in the job spec.
 Ensure compliance with contractor design verification processes
 Preparation of the technical specifications to be used for material procurement, fabrication and installation of the structures and components
 Review of vendor data for completeness of information required for structural design and compliance with project specifications
 Control of civil/ structural interfaces

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Thorough and working knowledge of:
 Civil and Structural engineering and design principles, theories, and concepts
 Applicable codes, standards (API, AISC and AWS), and trade practices
• Bachelor of Science degree in civil or structural engineering
• 10+ years of closely related professional engineering experience associated with onshore civil/structural design, fabrication and installation, 5+ years of which should be at the Senior Civil/ Structural Engineer level
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software programs
• Willing and able to travel as required – up to 50% time
