Job Title: Civil/Structural Principal Design Engineer
Job Location: North West
Rate/Salary: Negotiable

The Company:
Our client is one of the worlds largest providers of technical services across a wide range of sectors, including nuclear.

The Role:
Responsible for design development of a number of CS&A tasks/projects primarily connected to Sellafield site.. Should have ability to demonstrate good working knowledge of Sellafield site, experience of relevant design codes and good writing and communication skills
Liaison with client project team to understand requirements and deliverables for each work package Civil/Structural design.
Develop Civil/Structural scheme and documentation (calculations/drawings/reports) for all work packages
Produce scopes of work and specification in accordance with the Clients procedures and formats
Provide brief weekly reports on progress and 2 weekly look aheads
Oversee small CS&A design team with responsibility for all CS&A deliverables
Provide the necessary link between client Responsible Engineer, Operations and Sub Contractor to ensure the delivery of work packages that complies with the client expectation
Ensure all work complies with Company / Client Procedures, Company / Client and National design standards and legislation
Engage in regular communication with other discipline engineers to ensure effective design co-ordination
Attend key technical meetings including optioneering workshops, constructability reviews, CDM review, project risk reviews, design reviews (SDDR’s and MDDR’s) and HAZOP’s

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Degree or HND or equivalent Civil/Structural Design Engineer with min 8 years industrial experience
Experience of developing workmanship and quality specifications and scopes of work for projects with Civil/Structural bias
Experience in face-to-face discussions with clients
Experience in the management and interface with sub-contract organisations
Experience in compilation of documentation and reports

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Knowledge and experience of working within Sellafield site
Minimum 2 years nuclear experience at Sellafield with knowledge of Sellafield systems and procedures and delivery of SL
