.Scope of work:
The Integrated Operations Control Center (IOCC) is a major component of the Electrical, Instrument and Controls Team's scope in the project to expand the existing capabilities of power and communications across a very large oil field complex. To this end, it is important that the incumbent knows field construction practices with regard to civil and architectural disciplines and will assist the Contractor to plan their work in the most efficient way to achieve the schedule.
This building will have extremely high quality finishes that are of a fivestar hotel or Wall St corporate office building lobby standards. Due to this and the building’s importance to the Client, at or near completion it will be receiving a lot of attention. The Civil Superintendent must apply a great deal of attention to detail and impart that to the Contractor and its staff. “Good enough” isn’t an option for this scope of work. It must be of high quality from start to finish.
The person in this position must take on multiple roles including contract and schedule reviews, planning, provide safety field leadership, be proactive and not delegate responsibilities to others. In this position, "the buck stops here".
This position requires 85% outdoor work in a harsh environment (40 – 110F) with personnel from many countries, languages and varied backgrounds. Mentoring and imparting the incumbent’s knowledge and skill sets to the workforce is required. This person must be a Safety Champion and enforce Stop Work Authority. Must also be ready to produce, in conjunction with the Contractor, a quality product when completed.
Location of the work is in Tengiz, Republic of Kazakhstan.
Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Higher National Certificate (or equal, i.e. trade certificate) is desired, but a degree is preferred. Full understanding of construction codes and requirements is a must.
Minimum 15 years of construction supervision experience in civil, architectural and finishes in an international locations is desired, but experience in the Republic of Kazakhstan is preferred. Experience working on highend
commercial buildings, i.e. fivestar hotels, Wall St office buildings, etc. is highly desirable.
Good computer skills, i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook are required.
Fluent in English language both written and spoken. Knowledge of
Russian and/or Kazakh is desired.
