The Company:
A mining EPCM client working on multiple projects within Australia.

The Role:
The Supervisor’s role is to provide support to the Project Manager through the provision of field supervision, planning, quality monitoring, coordination and construction management capabilities. The Supervisor is a Line Manager and is required to demonstrate leadership and commitment in relation to the implementation of the HSEC Procedures. Facility Description & Boundary Limits

Specific Responsibilities

 Implementation of all aspects of the HSEC Procedures including audits/inspections of the contractors’ areas, hazard card reporting, accident/incident investigations reporting, issue of access and work permits, behavioural based observations, conducting additional safety meetings and weekly workplace inspections/audits as and when required etc.
 JHA and Take 5 Auditing for Quality, task specific and compliance.
 Ensure that relevant contractors / consultants and personnel comply with the requirements of the HSEC Procedures.
 As a Section 44 Appointed Person, ensure compliance with the Mines Safety & Inspection Act 1994 by all personnel on site
 Carry out instructions or directions given by the Registered Mine Manager to ensure compliance with the Mines Safety & Inspection Act 1994.
 Actively participate in and support Incident and Injury Free culture (IIF)
 Monitor the work of contractors and consultants to ensure contract and project objectives are achieved or exceeded.
 Inspect the work under each contract daily and advise the contractor / consultant of any corrective actions needed as they occur.
 Ensure site entry requirements for plant, equipment and people are complied with.
 Report weekly to the Project Manager the progress on each work area.
 Attend kick-off, daily pre-start and weekly meetings with consultants, contractors and REG.
 In conjunction with the Project Manager maintain good relations with local companies adjacent to the site and client representatives, with particular attention being given to REG management and staff. At times this may involve compromising the objectives of the project in order to maintain a good working relationship.
 Resolve interface issues with REG and Area C Operations quickly and efficiently in such a way as to minimise the demands on site personnel and resources.
 Act as a spokesperson for the Project communicating project scope, objectives and progress to key stakeholders and interested parties on site.
 Provide all reasonable assistance and cooperation to contractors and consultants in the execution of their work.
 Understanding of Company Environmental and Heritage procedures. Ensure compliance to minimise potential impact of field activities.
 Escort traditional owners to conduct heritage surveys, displaying an appreciation / sensitivity to cultural issues.
 Supervision of all supervisor/inspection staff and assist in ensuring they are fully aware of their goals and responsibilities, have the latest drawing revisions, correct information, feedback from contractor discussions and sufficient equipment to carry out allocated duties.
 Liaise with the contractor’s representatives on all items which are not covered by the contract scope of work, determine if project office action is required and proceed to implement the work involving the Project Manager as necessary.
 Recommend and obtain approvals for additional work outside the original contract/project scope of work prior to implementation.
 Maintain documentation relating to work on the contract.
 Conform to the requirements included in the Project Procedures Manual Section 11.0 for communication with contractors and site administration issues.
 Where works are carried out at hourly rates, assist in ensuring that extra claim sheets are correct in accordance with procedures and approved on a daily basis.
 Assessment of the site content of claims made by contractors; assist to resolve disputes on contract documentation interpretation. If conflict with the contractor arises refer to the Project Manager
 Supervision of any extra works by contractors and preparation documentation verifying completion of the work and counter sign contractor’s hourly works time sheets.
 Resolve queries, issues, changes etc. requested by contractors and consultants and assist in ensuring a system is in place to highlight items involving a delayed response.
 Review proposed and actual changes to project implementation and contractor / consultant schedules and report any concerns.
 Pre-empt problems to the progress or performance of work and recommend strategies to overcome any delay.
 Monitor resources employed by contractors and consultants including number and calibre of staff, manpower and equipment and make recommendation where deficiencies are found.

 Ability to implement cost control measures
 Ability to negotiate contractual matters

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
HSC or equivalent (High School)
Previous Supervisor experience on EPCM Project
