The Company:
Our Client is a large Automotive and Commercial Vehicle OEM, with a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering on a contract basis. These opportunities are typically based in their research and development facility located in Dunton which is the largest automotive technical centre in the United Kingdom.

The Role:
* Clutch & DMF / Powertrain Quality engineer Requirement: An experienced Mechanical Engineer with extensive Quality experience is required to work within the Global Clutch quality team.
* Position Responsibilities: Build, maintain and leverage a network of effective working relationships with key interfaces & internal and external (supply base, FCSD, engine / vehicles plants, STA etc)
*Monitor and analyse warranty data for emerging trends, interface with relevant core/application engineers and suppliers.
*Be project lead for investigations into clutch quality issues and organise/maintain working team efforts through the problem solving steps to quickly identify root cause and fixes.
* Monitor clutch related repairs within dealer network to check effectives of
* ICA/PCA fixes and effectiveness of dealer repair processes
*Chair weekly Quality meetings within Clutch team to ensure visibility of quality issues/ fixes and project teams are making progress in investigations.
* Degree (in Mechanical, Automotive Engineering or equivalent) ¿ Practical experience of applying quality tools in an automotive environment (OEM or supply base).
* Expected tool set includes - Global 8D, Statistical Process Control, Six Sigma (min Green Belt), FMEA, BSAQ
* Pro-active nature, self-motivated with excellent team and leadership skills.
* Strong data analysis skills and proficient in using Excel, Minitab and/or AWS
* Project management skills and ability to work without supervision
* Ability to summarise data and report out key messages to senior management both verbally and in presentations
* Detailed understanding of Global Dimensioning and Tolerancing, particularly in the context of application to manufacturing process and measurement.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* Familiar with Product Development Processes (GPDS, WERS, AIMS, eFDVS, etc)
*Knowledge of manual transmission design, function and integration into automotive applications.
* Knowledge of dealer processes SBD, IDS
* Demonstrated ability to lead complex project delivery.
* Experience in successfully leading multi-functional teams
* Quality engineer or STA engineer in OEM or Tier 1 supplier
* Prior sub system design and release experience and familiarity.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Degree qualified Mechanical or Automotive engineer
