The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Clutch and Manual Transmission Validation Engineer for Transmission and Driveline Systems. During the delivery phases of the program lifecycle the successful candidate will be required to support ; - DVP&R Planning and Timing - Test Standard writing and implementation via JLR Process to support Manual Gearboxes, Clutches, DMF's, Gearshift Mechanisms and Clutch Hydraulics - communication of issues to management including 8D Reports, FMEA, AIMS, eFDVS, RMDV - Investigations and resolution of issues within the manual transmission system ownership - Working with the Lead Engineer to deliver JLR programmes on time and to a high quality

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Good level of MS Office skills essential. Good communication and presentation skills at all levels within the business Good understanding of engineering and problem solving principles. Self starter - will be responsible for moving Programmes forward with minimal guidance. Understanding of major units within automotive driveline system Understanding of JLR Program Delivery principles Knowledge of Transmission Development including Gearboxes and Clutches
Must have experience of working in a Design function, writing of test standards, control of test plans and planning, liaising with test and validation to determine DVP's and ensure testing is controlled and timed to meet programme deliverables
Minimum of A level (or equivalent) educated with at least one subject in Applied Mathematics, Engineering or Programme Management.), similar experience based on years worked could also be taken as acceptable e.g. craft/technician course engineers with minimum 10 yrs experience in Transmissions De

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Experience of JLR specific programme delivery tools such as GPDS, AIMS, eFDVS would be a real advantage
Previous working experience in a Transmission and Driveline Engineering department would be a real advantage
Degree level eduction in Engineering preffered but time served Transmissions with minimum of 5 yrs experience will also be taken into consideration
