The Company:
Our client has been established for over 20 years locally and is focused on delivering design solutions to the nuclear industry, specialising in the design of mechanical handling plant and equipment, the design and installation of plant control systems and the provision of support to plant safety reviews.

The Role:
• Plan machining operations by reading works orders, engineering drawings, specifications and other work instructions
• Resolving issues or queries with drawings or other work instructions
• Programming CNC lathes and milling machines
• Proving programmes and other first-off operations
• Setting and operating both manual and CNC machine tools
• Ensuring accurate routing data and other issues are recorded
• Inspecting, measuring and signing off finished parts
• Working to a high standard of quality compliance fit for the nuclear industry
• Working with the Shift Team Leader to continually push machine operations for the best productivity
• Identifying opportunities for design changes that could lead to production improvements
• Organising and maintaining both tools and the working environment to achieve efficient operations
• Communicating effectively to maintain efficient production

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• A recognised formal apprenticeship
• A wide range of precision machine shop skills and experience
• A thorough understanding of engineering drawings and dimensional/geometric tolerances
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail
• General competency in computers, CNC machine programming and computer-aided manufacturing tools
