The Company:
A family business having traded over 50 years. Carry out machining, fabrication assembly and testing services for a range of high-profile multinational customers, turnover £5m, employees 70. Running a strong order book.

The Role:
Required for their heavy subcontract machine shop, handling up to 50 tonnes, range of large CNC milling machines, vertical borers, horizontal borers. Control systems Siemens, Fanuc, NUM, and Heidenhain.

In particular, experience on manual or CNC horizontal borer, or CNC Plano Mill, is relevant.

MUST be time-served, with experience in operating similar large CNC machine tools and in producing one-offs and small batch work. Must be programmer, setter, operator. Someone with supervisory experience/ambition to be able to carry out a Shift Leader (chargehand) role, or working towards such a position in the future, would be much advantaged, however a competent operator is all that is required to fill this position.

Basic hours (days) 39 hpw, Mon-Thurs 0800-1630, 30 minutes’ lunch break. Fri 0800-1500 with lunch or 0600-1300. Evening/weekend overtime. We operate a shift system of one week days, followed by one week nights (Mon-Thur nights 10 hours per shift, 12 with overtime).
