The Role:
The Coatings Inspector responsible for

• Providing coatings and insulation inspection for the Jacket and Pile Construction

Duties include

• Promotion of Company 10 Golden Rules Safety principles
• To work in accordance with the company’s project management system
• Ensure work is carried out in accordance with relevant Regulations, Codes, Standards and Procedures
• Attend meetings and report progress status to the line and function reporting lines on a daily basis
• Maintain and develop current awareness of relevant engineering technology & Codes and Standards
• Liaise with other disciplines, departments, project personnel and contractors and subcontractors
• Carry out the specific Quality Surveillance activities as detailed in the Project Quality Surveillance Plan Procedure and support audit and review activities
• Ensure Contractor and subcontractors are working in accordance with the project procedures and specifications / data sheets
• To monitor contractor and subcontractor’s coatings and insulation performance, inspection and testing as necessary, prior to assembly, during assembly and after completion to verify that inspectors and applicators are qualified, materials, consumables and workmanship meet the requirements of the project specifications, standards and procedures
• Verify that all coatings and insulation activities are performed in accordance with project requirements

Candidate Profile:

• Have a track record of involvement in projects at a similar phase of maturity, size and complexity
• Suitably experienced and qualified in a relevant discipline
• Detailed working knowledge and proven abilities in application of National and International codes and standards
• The successful candidate should also possess familiarity with fabrication and construction practices of major oil companies
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and work with other team members to meet project milestones
• Able to work in the surroundings of a major construction site and associated health, safety and environmental practice
• Good communicator with good interpersonal and team skills
• Good time and task management
• Professional attitude, highly motivated, self reliant and confident
• Willingness to share knowledge
• Demonstrate a thorough working knowledge and proven ability of all phases and types of critical coating applications and methods and recognized industry standards
• Needs to adapt to flexible practices to ensure inspection activities are sufficiently covered

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Education, Experience, Technical Qualifications:

• Sound secondary education
• Should be able to read engineering and construction drawings
• Good communication skills
• Certified as a National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE) Level II Certification, or equivalent standard acceptable to COMPANY
• Working knowledge of computerised systems and word processing and presentation packages
