The Company:
Our client is a global energy and petrochemicals company who have formed a recent Joint Venture working together globally in the drilling and completions activities that the new JV undertakes in Australasia.

The Role:
As the Australian Commercial Manager you will have a direct report to the General Manager Commercial, with a dotted line reporting to the Australian Country Manager.

You will lead the commercial activities for this JV which may include obtaining negotiating mandates from the head office in Beijing, plan and lead negotiations and manage stakeholders to meet the project schedule. You will Identify and coordinate required resources to prepare and implement proposals to customer; and lead new business opportunities from potential customer engagement and bid invitations.

Responsibilities:
• Support JV’s management and Shareholders in achieving the goals and targets set by the CCO.
• Effectively manage the functional and line management reporting structure.
• Responsible for new market development including potential for deployment of bespoke technology, commodities and services.
• Responsible for communicating customer and market requirements into viable techno-commercial constructs, bid and proposal preparation and presentation and identification and delivery of the commercial structures and agreements which will deliver the necessary value to the JV.
• Responsible for interacting with the local customers and stakeholders from inception through to delivery.
• Support delivery and communicating CVP, marketing and business development activities, assembling teams, requesting and managing the necessary budgets required, securing the required internal approvals.
• Building and maintaining key relationships at senior levels with customers and external stakeholders in the region, including government representatives, regulators, service providers and keep people appropriately informed through clear communication.
• Develop and maintain relationship of trust and confidentiality when handling sensitive issues
• Keep an appropriate audit trail

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Relevant degree and Minimum of 10 years Commercial experience working directly or indirectly for an international oil/gas company
• Knowledge of commercial elements of unconventional developments; i.e. Upstream, Pipeline, Sales and Marketing, and C&P.
• Experience of concluding complex agreements involving multi-skilled teams including legal, technical, finance advisors
• Experience of different negotiation and influencing styles in a variety of negotiating situations
• Able to work with international and multi-cultural team and partners
• Solid networking experience with stakeholders

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Prior experience in providing services to upstream development
