The Role:
Responsible to : Vice President Commercial and Finance

Position Purpose:
• Reporting to the Vice President Commercial and Finance, the Commercial Manager will be responsible for advising upon all commercial matters which may affect the company’s Indonesian PSCs and their operations. Such commercial matters will include, but not be limited to, company growth strategy, product sales, divestments and development projects.

Leadership & Team Contribution
• The successful candidate will lead the Indonesian Commercial team.
• The team will be responsible for all commercial matters pertaining to the existing Indonesian exploration and development PSCs as well as any future and potential acquisitions etc. Potential areas of interest for the team will be the development of the Ande Ande Lumut oil field, portfolio growth and rationalisation including corporate and project activities. ns are based

Task Summary:
• Lead the Commercial Team on all Indonesian commercial matters.
• As requested, and in conjunction with Sydney head-quarters, advise on other SE Asian commercial issues.
• Negotiate deal terms and contracts for execution.
• Present recommendations on farmins, farmouts, acquisitions, divestments etc to senior and headquarter management teams.
• Liaise with internal departments and external advisors on matters such as taxation, finance, legal etc.
• Ensure that commercial risk to which the company is or may be exposed are understood and communicated and manage risk minimisation where applicable.
• Ensure that all major Ande Ande Lumut development decisions are applied and understood in a commercial context and that all major development decisions receive commercial approval.
• Ability to represent AWE to BPMIGAS in discussions of a commercial nature.
• Expert knowledge in the commercial arrangements (including fiscal regimes, contractual arrangement, relevant parliamentary Acts, etc.) associated with existing exploration and production PSCs and potential areas of interest.
• Lead the AWE Indonesian industry and corporate research and make recommendations on business opportunities.
• Ensuring compliance with all legal, statutory and corporate affairs requirements on a timely basis
• Identify ways of improving systems and processes within your area of responsibility.
• Perform all work in a safe manner ensuring your health and safety and that of all other employees
• Maintaining good working relationship with peers and other departments.
• Perform related duties and special projects as assigned by your manager to assist in ensuring the success of the AWE operation

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
10-15 years’ experience in the resources sectors, with the immediately prior 5 years being in the oil and gas sector in a Commercial role.

Education level:
Bachelor degree

Personal Abilities:
• Demonstrated leadership ability and commercial acumen.
• Knowledge of key roles, people and responsibilities within BPMIGAS organisation.
• Proven ability to interact well with wide variety of industry players and ability to open opportunities mutually beneficial to both parties.
• Ability to think outside the box, leading to win-win negotiating outcomes.
• Ability to quickly assess commercial reports and analysis and make and clearly represent recommendations so made.
• Ability to communicate at all levels, both internally and externally
• Must have fluency in English.
• Ability to prioritise workflows and meet deadlines
