Our client is a nuclear specialist, covering both civilian and defence sectors, across the complete lifecycle from New Build, through Operations and Maintenance, to final decommissioning and waste disposal.

We currently have an exciting position for an experienced Commercial Manager / Senior Quantity Surveyor whose focus would be to act as the ‘commercial and contractual guardian’ of our tendering activities. The successful incumbent will work with our bid managers, estimating team, procurement team and others involved in tendering activities to provide contractual and commercial strategy and input to our tendering activities and subsequent negotiations.


This role is for an experienced Commercial Manager / Senior Quantity Surveyor whose focus would be our tendering activities. The successful incumbent will work with our bid managers, estimating team, procurement team and others involved in tendering activities to provide contractual and commercial strategy and input to our tendering activities and subsequent negotiations.

• To establish pre-contract contractual relationships with partners where required
• To guide tender strategies and ensure a cohesive offer that best manages risk / reward balance
• Initial reviews of terms and conditions and other ITT documentation
• Preparation of qualifications, clarifications and limitations (commercial memorandum)
• Close liaison with the Procurement team to ensure suitable enquiry packages are issued
• To provide confidence in the adequacy of our tender proposals through the Company and parental approval processes
• To present tender submissions to potential clients where requested and to play a full role in contract negotiations
• To be able to appreciate and undertake post contract commercial duties if necessary
• Strategic with good risk awareness
• Analytical, commercial, thorough, detailed
• Reliable and consistent
• Articulate – excellent written communication and numerate
• Proactive with a proactive positive attitude

. Typical career development can be to departmental management responsibility and then strategic to senior management within the Company.
