The Company:
Our client is a global leader in the design and delivery of infrastructure, power and major engineering projects around the world. Their clients come to them for a wide range of advice, resources and skills - in engineering, maintaining infrastructure, managing construction, planning and strategic thinking.

The Role:
Location:
Birmingham, but assigned to various sites in the Midlands region.

Job Role:
• To be part of a team providing effective project control to ensure that projects are delivered on time within budget to the client’s satisfaction.


Responsibilities
• As Commercial Manager you will support the Client in the following:
1. Provision of Commercial Assurance activities in support of the Lot 3 Framework with the Highways Agency, including contract administration (NEC 2 etc), change management, and project reporting to HA requirements
2. Contractor interface within the Lot 6A schemes
3. Provision of Commercial management and quantity surveying support to Company Highways and Transportation activity managed from the Birmingham office and elsewhere
4. Provision of support and assistance to others on other cross sector schemes and commissions
5. Management and support of the Assistant Commercial Manager

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Skills & Experience
Skills in the majority of the following:
• Ability to prepare, monitor and control cost plans and financial budgets for programmes of work and specific projects
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Ability to respond positively to change
• Good ICT skills in particular good MS Office Skills
• Commercial awareness
• Multi discipline capability
• Excellent communication skills
• Good analytical skills and ability to challenge ineffective performance
• Good negotiation skills
• Good contract management/administration skills
• Ability to prioritise your own workload to meet agreed objectives and support others where necessary.
Experience in the majority of the following:
• Cost modelling
• Change management
• Identification, preparation, evaluation and management of claims.
• Drafting of contractual correspondence.
• Estimating / cost analysis for both contractor and employer
• Project Cost Management and challenges including acc
