The Company:
Our client is an Engineering Services company, who are an international technical consultancy, providing a range of services including licence to operate, asset management, manufacturing improvement and capital investment to customers in the chemical, petrochemical, oil & gas, pharmaceutical, manufacturing and consumer industries worldwide

The Role:
 This role is to be the contracts manager for the CMS project in respect of UK activities, and will require extensive travel and time spent working on location to support the project, which is based in the north of Scotland.
 Against the scope of Group Directives and UK Commercial law, supports the PS Legal team and supply chain management (SCM) in negotiations with supply chain on commercial terms and conditions for Grid Systems projects.
 Advises the company and leads negotiations with the customer with regards to managing the commercial risk, as a result of the company not being compliant with the agreed terms of a project.
 Interprets and ensures compliance with both Group Directives, together with UK and EU Commercial law.
 Supports the Grid Systems business in resolving complex commercial and legal issues as they arise across the business.
 Use expertise to support the development and delivery of training initiatives, standard tools and templates, aimed at promoting the commercial knowledge and astuteness of a wide range of the companies professional staff.
 Provide the commercial administration of and interface on all insurance, legal, bonds, documentary credit and export markets.
 Delivering training to the project team on commercial issues and contract terms.
 Support the project execution phase of projects to:
 Identify the contract baseline, including terms and conditions, specifications, drawings, estimate, proposal, schedule and other documents to be incorporated into the sub-contracts.
 Establish Contract Requirements Action & Notification List identifying specific contract actions and notification of the business and the customer and the individual responsible for each action.
 Prepare change orders to the contract and, as directed, negotiate such change orders.
 Regularly reviews compliance with prime contract terms and conditions.
 Prepare claims as they develop.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
 Minimum 10 years’ experience in Grid Systems projects or similar.
 Extensive experience of negotiating and administering NEC3 contracts.
 Degree in Business, Quantity Surveying, Law, Engineering, Construction Management or Cost Engineering or equivalent experience.
 Expertise in the commercial aspects of projects, through significant experience of risk management during project execution. A skilled negotiator with good communication skills and credibility with both, customers and suppliers..
 Experienced in contract law, contract drafting, administration and negotiation of change orders, effective correspondence, planning and scheduling.
 Thorough knowledge of prime contract administration office and field procedures and documents relating to a construction project.
 Working knowledge of engineering/construction industry contracting practices, applicable government and commercial regulations and practices, and policies, procedures and work practices.
