The Role:
Overview:

The Commercial Representative is responsible for collaborating with the business partner on business needs and developing/executing on the appropriate commercial strategies. This includes the preparation and negotiation of contracts and coordinating the execution and handling of the necessary commercial documents. The Commercial Representative is expected to partner with the client organization and Category Managers in support of major sourcing efforts which deliver value to the Corporation. The successful candidate will have strong core commercial skills, possess the ability to develop sound negotiation strategies and lead the negotiations, have strong interpersonal and influencing skills, work well in a team environment and be a strategic thinker.

Responsibilities:
Follows the clients contract management process in coordinating the strategy, preparation, and execution of key contracts in a manner that ensures proper definition of the business relationship to mitigate and allocate the risk between Company and the supplier
Ensures compliance with related Company policies and procedures.
Conducts the acquisition process for significant goods and services, delivery requirements, performance and reliability expectations while optimizing the cost of materials and services
Monitors bid processes, oversees the preparation of bid packages, prepares bid analysis and participates in final contract award decisions
Maintains a working knowledge of legal requirements (i.e. Uniform Commercial Code - UCC), governmental rules and regulations related to contractual documents, performance of contract work, quality assurance requirements, and business relationships. Supports the law department in the examination and litigation of legal matters related to commercial transactions.
Leads the process to implement new commercial strategies within the Corporation.
Works closely with all components within Global Procurement to assure strong communications, collaboration and goal alignment.
Manages individual local and regional key supplier relationships to optimize the exchange of value with those companies and maximize value of the relationship for all parties.
Participates in the identification and evaluation of commercial and financial processes to assess their value and applicability within the Corporation.
Collaborates with the business partners in the development of credible business cases once viable alternative strategies are developed. Leads the process to implement new commercial strategies within the Corporation.
Manages individual local and regional key supplier relationships to optimize the exchange of value with those companies and maximize value of the relationship for all parties. Works with and supports the Global Category Managers regarding key supplier initiatives.

Degree: Preferred.
Years Experience Required: 5 years drilling services procurement, supply chain, contracts
