The Company:
Our Client is a major contractor providing consultancy, engineering and project management services to the world's energy, power and process industries. They are the leading Contracting Company to the Oil and Gas Industry in the UK.

The Role:
• Maintain and promote a safe working environment and demonstrate correct HSE behaviours and leadership.
• Ensuring that CRB approval process is followed and that all necessary approvals are obtained.
• Ensuring that projects operate in accordance with the company commercial policies and procedures.
• Ensuring that project invoicing is carried out in accordance with terms and conditions of contract and that cash position is maximised.
• Ensuring that end life forecasting and cost/value reporting on projects is undertaken in accordance with company policies and procedures and that the appropriate values are reflected in the management accounts.
• Ensuring that variation requests, contract amendment requests and claims are submitted in accordance with contract requirements
• Ensuring that final accounts are agreed and contracts closed out in accordance with contract requirements.
• Ensuring that sub-contracts are placed and managed in accordance with relevant company policies and procedures and in a manner which optimises the company's commercial position.
• Ensuring that necessary processes are in place for cost reporting to Clients.
• Ensuring that KPI schemes are properly administered in accordance with contract terms and conditions.
• Ensuring that revised contract rates and prices are developed as appropriate.
• Ensuring that necessary processes are in place for the control of expenditure.
• Development of sub-contracting strategies.
• Ensuring that processes are in place for pursuing invoice payments.
• Liaison with insurance department regarding insurance claims.
• Ensuring that appropriate risk management techniques are applied during pre and post contract phases of projects.
• Ensuring that payment/political risk insurance cover taken out as required by company policies and procedures.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• University graduate or above in Quantity Surveying, Law, Business Studies or other appropriate discipline.
• Experience in senior commercial roles.
• Membership of a professional institution (eg RICS) desirable but not absolutely essential
