Is a leading Automotive manufacturer with a reputation for outstanding quality the world over. With demand increasing and an upturn in production, there is a need to bring further skills into the business to deliver on current and future projects.

The Role:
This role is responsible for driving commercial skills and competence across a 250 global dealer network. The role holder will gather training needs to inform commercial training content and also work closely with the programme team and Head of Dealer Academy to understand future developments and strategy. The Commercial Training Developer will be responsible for developing and customising bespoke learning solutions, co-ordinating and supporting the design and implementation of strategic Dealer Academy projects.


The primary goal is to design and develop engaging and interactive training interventions using a variety of training mediums (practical, theory, E-Learning) to drive the dealer network competence in commercial skills. Focussing on and driving business acumen into how courses are developed to reduce duplication and development costs. Driving global standards to ensure regional alignment and auditing of these standards. Gaining feedback from regional teams/dealers and integrating these new requirements into course content to ensure “best in class” practices are up held.

Design, creation and co-ordination of learning interventions to meet business objectives and training needs;

• Create, update and maintain materials necessary for the delivery of new Commercial courses including: lesson plans and support materials, delegate handouts, visual aids, pre- and post-course materials and other relevant resources such as e-learning etc
• To identify opportunities for an author once, multi-use approach that supports blended learning solutions across Commercial and Technical areas of the business
• Support the delivery of a product , people development ‘experience’ in-line with the Academy strategy and brand values. Recognise and integrate best practice in learning and organisational development through partnerships with external suppliers or through further development of courses and programmes
• Follow defined procedures for course development and release processes
• Demonstrate a focus on the operational requirements of the end user when designing training courses
• Create performance and assessment tools
• Review assessment documentation to ensure that it reflects current training objectives and update where necessary
• Working closely with the Head of Dealer Academy, training managers and programme manager to ensure alignment of Academy training plans
• Working closely with the Academy Programme Manager to develop the training strategy and enhancing course curriculums/learning pathways
• Build relationships with key stakeholders to ensure smooth sign off of training materials

Development of Commercial targeted training courses and programmes;

• Work with subject matter experts to produce high quality and effective training materials to enhance the learning experience for all learning styles
• Design, develop and update course content and learning solutions
• Create aims with measurable objectives that match the course content
• Deliver Train the Trainer sessions for a global community
• Input to storyboards and communicate relevant and timely information to the eLearning Development Manager
• Revise and re-write existing course content (in order to refresh content to support best in class styling and re-authoring content from other brands to tailor to the needs of company)
• Assist the Academy team to work with Group to identify where learning content can be harnessed using existing materials

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Must have experience working for Automotive Clients
Adept in use of MS Office particularly Excel and Word, and ideally Access or similar database to basic level, Internet and Outlook
• Familiarity with SCORM standards and specification
• Knowledge of course development methods (e.g. ADDIE, Blooms Taxonomy and objective writing)
• Proven experience of producing effective training materials, (e.g. eLearning programmes, trainer guides & lesson plans)
• Communication skills – interpersonal, presentation and written
• Able to build and maintain working relationships with colleagues, clients and stakeholders.
• Ability to manage own workload and be a self starter
• Experience of working in a complex and diverse training environment
• Analytical and conceptual thinking – using logic and reason, creative and strategic
• Influencing and negotiation skills
• Self-motivated and well organised
• Team Player - ability to build and sustain credibility with dealers, area teams an

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Relevant experience of coaching, training or similar is essential; with project management & consultancy skills desirable.
• Experience with e-learning development and authoring tools advantageous
• Working as part of the team engaged on various projects.
• Experience of working with Dealers, working cross-culturally & foreign language skills would be advantageous.
• German language skills
• Formal instructional design qualification or demonstrable experience in instructional design
• Educated to Degree or higher level qualification (preferable) in IT, business or HR field
• Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (CIPD) qualified (preferable)
