The Role:
Assist and Execute the work preparation for operations Commissioning activities for the Utility and interconnecting systems in cooperations with Operations field teams

For Commissioning and Start-up of the revamped and new units:
- Commissioning & start up preparation (definition of conditions, method statements and task analysis, safe execution, commissioning packages, project punch list and close out,…) of new and existing installations according the OPERCOM methodology.
- Assists in setting up procedures for commissioning activities of the revamped and new units
- Assists in performance of the risk analysis, safety compliance of all Production related activities during construction on-site and commissioning and start-up of the revamped and new units.
- Assists in coordination and control of commissioning & start-up packages on behalf of Production
- Execution of commissioning activities on new and modified systems (punching, caps & blinds control, …)
- Supervision of safety conditions and housekeeping during the execution of the Commissioning activities. Immediate intervention to stop and reporting of unsafe, deviating or substandard situations.
- Discuss and propose mitigating measures for execution and communication with Operations Teams and project execution teams
- Assist and support Operations start-up teams during the start-up of the project facilities.

The Commissioning and Start-up Assistant is a member of the Operations team within the project integration team throughout the project.
He/She shall assist the project team during the project operations commissioning activities and has his/her role in the Operations during the Commissioning and start-up phases of the project.
The execution of all of the activities according to the targets of the project with regard to safety, environment and quality.
Supervision/Follow up of the works during the Commissioning and the adjustement if necessary (safe execution, No leak , coactivity).
Accurate and detailed execution of the commissioning tasks with daily multiple reporting to Production Coordinator and operators.
Communicate with other departments linked to the project
Communicate with external companies (contractors, vendors) executing commissioning .

Demonstrate exemplary behaviour and attitude on safety culture
Normal work schedule in day regime. Shift regime (6-14h/14-22h/22-6h) will be required during Commissioning and Start-up Activities.
Working conditions in a operational refinery

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
10 yr experience in refinery or petrochemical operations or equal
5-10 yr experience in projects and/or turnarounds in refineries or petrochemical plants
Experience in Commissioning operations
Good knowledge of Microsoft packages as Visio, Word, Excell and AutoCAD
Language: Good knowledge English mandatory (Dutch is a plus)
