The Company:
Our client, a major international Engineering, Procurement & Construction company, requires expertise for their ongoing mega-projects in Alberta.

This position is open to Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents only.

The Role:
The role of the Commissioning and Start up Planner:

Plan, prepare and maintain a resource loaded Commissioning and Start up schedule to establish commissioning and start up sequence and resource requirements.
Responsible for supporting the integration of the Commissioning and Start up schedule with the overall Project Construction schedule.
Provides Project support and administration for all GoPlan requirements
Track, record, monitor overall planning information in the GoPlan data base as per project’s requirements for effective execution
Organize Kick off meetings, organize demos, implement GoPlan tool on projects, train staff as required.
Provide clarification/guidance on all Schedule/Planning and GoPlan related issues;
Facilitates schedule risk analysis utilizing PRA, Pertmaster or similar software
Interfaces with Home office project controls group to assemble and deliver necessary reporting for the commissioning/completions team.
Plans and schedules workflow for each discipline and operation according to previously established client sequences.
Planner/Scheduler confers with discipline leads and stakeholders to determine status of project and schedule.
Prepares cost, schedule and resource reporting as directed.
Work together with Client and other team representatives as part of a group to accurately communicate ideas, instructions, questions, problems, solutions.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
10+ years experience in project planning
Excellent skills in Primavera Project Planner
Experience on large-scale Engineering and/or Construction projects
Ability to schedule and track multiple projects from concept to completion
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong people skills which translates into the ability to effectively work independently and with a team
Experience liaising with engineers, project managers, production control
