The Role:
• Support the Subsea Execution project manager in the delivery of the subsea project.
• Work package development and delivery for incremental (brownfield) and Greenfield subsea developments executed within UIE.
• Commissioning engineering definition to meet the company Design and Engineering Practice (DEM1) requirements, subject to fitness-for-purpose assessment and rationale within development of technical/performance specifications.
• Safe and successful delivery of assigned tasks including handover to operations. Meeting project targets for schedule, cost, risk management, operability and reliability.
• Plan, manage and execute the work in line with the Corporate Management System (PMS) requirements.
• Management of HSSE applicable to work scopes.
• Ensuring compliance with project controls at all times, including project change control.
• Management of Project technical and operational interfaces (internal and external).
• Contribute/review/approval of project/activity deliverable documents and deviations to standards and standard practices
• Application and interpretation of regulations, standards, specifications and guidelines (International, National and Company [DEM/DEP]).
• Appropriate and timely engagement with technical authorities.
• Reporting progress in a timely and diligent manner.
• Acting in a formal role of Contract User for project-specific contracts within Suppliers for onshore and offshore commissioning services.
• Coaching and Mentoring of colleagues within subsea systems commissioning and other related topics.
• Assigning work tasks and performance monitoring of Contractor staff.
• Seek out and share best practices. Ensure lateral learning across the global subsea community.
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with key external suppliers.
Position Description – Dimensions Dimensions: The portfolio of subsea developments includes mature and new fields, each of which provides specific challenges to the Professional Engineer:
New subsea tie-backs and brownfield expansion/enhancement opportunities require consideration of cost as well as technical optimisation. A key focus will be on fitness-for-purpose and development and application of standard solutions to enable marginal subsea fields’ development.
Subsea Commissioning Engineers will be allocated to work within one or more Project Delivery Teams in support of the Subsea Execution Project Manager who will reside within Subsea Services.
Delegated Responsibility for commissioning subsea facilities or work packages as defined by the Project Managers.
Special Challenges Special Challenges: Develop a reliable service delivery to each Project whilst recognizing that personnel resources may be shared across several activities – within a matrix delivery organization.
Achieve a high level of standardization/repetition across Projects of varying scale to achieve maximum value to each supported Asset. Provide a cost effective regime for delivery of subsea projects achieving top quartile performance.
Manage a fair and constructive relationship with primary providers of services and materials.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Although an Engineering degree is not mandatory for this position, it would be beneficial to support the primary function of subsea project execution.
The position requires a demonstrated competence referenced to Senior Subsea Project Engineer JCP at JG4 level.
A demonstrated ability in managing commissioning scopes for subsea hardware and/or pipelines within subsea developments.
Contractor Staff will be expected to maintain and enhance their competence and networks within Subsea Engineering.
This will involve participation within Company and Industry working groups, professional development, technical courses and conferences (attendance and presentation).
