The Role:
Fircroft are currently recruiting on behalf of a major oil & gas operator for a role based in Milan.

They are looking to add a Commissioning Instrumentation Discipline Leader to work on one of their major projects so whilst based in Milan, this role will involve travel to the project site and may also require relocation dependant upon business needs, although most likely once execution phase begins.

During the engineering phase you will only have responsibility for yourself, however once the project moves to site stage, you will become responsible for 5 Field Ops on site.

M ain responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following:

Commissioning Preparation Phase
- Review the preparation of the Commissioning. This includes procedures, reporting tools (ICAPS, planning, manpower), requisition for euipment, spares, special tools.
- Provide assistance to the EPCC contractor during the detailed engineering, in order to optimize the commissioning sequence and schedule and preparation of OTP.
- Estimate the scope of work and define the resources required from field operations to witness pre-commissioning and commissioning activities on site.

Commissioning Execution
- Promote HSE behaviour with the commissioning activities and verify that HSE procedures are implemented by the commissioning team.
- To witness / monitor the pre-commissioning activities as performed by the contractor.
- Ensure progress is in accordance with priorities driven by the commissioning and start-up sequence
- Ensure optimal vendor mobilization and planning for SAT and start-up of equipment.
- Validate tests for instrumentation systems & control.
- Review of pre-commissioning and commissioning dossiers and approve operational test procedures.
- Manage supervise and train future field operation personnel integrated in the commissioning team.
- Ensure a smooth handover by way of monitoring spares, materials and providing indepth feedback.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
8 to 15 years Oil & Gas Project experience
Precommissioning & Commissioning activities
Main instrumentation systems (ICSS, analyzers, control valves, tank gauging systems etc)
Good level of HSE knowledge
Recognised leadership capability
Fluency in English (speaking and writing)
