The Company:
Our client is a 'super-major' oil and gas operator.

The Role:
Start Date: 1 July 2014
Reporting to: Mechanical Commissioning Lead
Location: Ulsan, South Korea

Second part of a phased development of the field located on the UKCS. Facilities have two fixed steel Jacket Platforms & Topsides, bridge-linked, comprising of a Drilling and Production (DP) platform and a Quarters and Utilities (QU) platform. The new facilities will tie in to the existing oil and gas export pipelines to the Shetland Islands.

There is also provision on DP for future subsea tie-backs. The target for first oil production is Q2 2016.

Job Purpose:

The Mechanical/ HVAC Lead Technician is principally responsible for all aspects of Mechanical Commissioning on the Utilities Platform through all phases of the project (London, South Korea, Offshore Shetland).

The role will involve Commissioning procedure development, FAT attendance for all Mechanical packages, reviewing Commissioning temporaries requirements, review of Commissioning spares and Review and input into first fill register.

Reporting Relationships:
• Reports directly to the Commissioning Team Leader Mech/HVAC

• Validate project data in Completions database
• Accept Mechanical Completion Handovers for the Mechanical Discipline
• Lead the execution of the mechanical static commissioning checks
• Ability to organise teams to maximise productivity and meet targets
• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair and maintain a variety of mechanical equipment including electric motors, engines, gas and electric powered pumps, air compressors, gas compressors, emergency systems, power generation systems, chillers and pressure and flow regulators
• Complete all relevant project documentation including knowledge of completion systems
• Adhere to permit to work system
• Check and add oil to pumps and engines, grease bearings and perform other related preventive maintenance work on equipment. Disassemble varying equipment and replace or renew bearings and packing
• Remove and replace water and oil hoses on diesel engines, replace air and oil filters and replace or repairs valves
• Assist in the inspection and maintenance of all mechanical, HVAC and utility systems
• Maintain records and take and log a variety of readings from equipment during test runs
• Make visual inspections of plant operations ensuring that operational problems have been identified and corrected
• Establish positive working relationships with immediate supervision and personnel from other departments
• Other duties as assigned

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Proven experience in Oil and Gas Industry and Offshore working
• Relevant qualifications in Mechanical discipline
• Relevant Offshore Survival Certificate
• Experience and understanding of GOC system
• Experience of and ability to work overseas
