Our Client is an International Oil and Gas Operator involved in 2 of Australia's largest LNG Projects based in Western Australia. The Role:
The Commissioning SIMOPS Superintendent is a key member of the BWI Permitting Team, reporting to the HES Supervisor – PTW / SIMOPS.

The individual within the role must:

• Be able to make difficult decisions and lead and manage others in changing business conditions.
• Have excellent people management skills such as leadership, team, interpersonal, coaching, mentoring and supervisory skills. Must be able to build, motivate, develop and manage effective team relationships.
• Have excellent management skills including the ability to plan, set goals; and manage time, priorities, resources, accountabilities, schedules and cost.
• Effectively manage and resolve conflict between individuals and/or groups.
• Be able to negotiate successful outcomes that achieve the required objectives as well as having the support and acceptance of all parties.
• Demonstrate initiative and a willingness to learn and continuously improve on performance.
• Be able to work on multiple projects of various size and complexity

• Lead the SIMOPS Surveillance effort, providing oversight and assurance for all SIMOPS activities in that area.
• Ensure implementation of the SIMOPS plan.
• Interface with the parties executing work in the assigned area (Construction, Commissioning and
Operations) to ensure work that involves SIMOPS is consistently identified, assessed and mitigated to allow
safe and efficient execution.
• Provide support to the Contractor SIMOPS management team in the deployment and monitoring of SIMOPS
• Action new flagged SIMOPS risks in cooperation with executing parties and Contractor SIMOPS management team.
• Carry out regular audits to verify that SIMOPS controls and isolations are in place and effective.
• Manage spade register and execute spade surveillance.
• Participate in independent pre/system live up walk downs to verify isolations.
• Communicate with and advise local area teams on SIMOPS issues.
• Participate in Permit to Work (PTW) meetings for parties executing work.
• Participate in daily/weekly SIMOPS planning meetings.

• Support the PTW/SIMOPS processes
• Liaising with Construction, Commissioning & Operations Management Teams
• Participation in (PSSR) pre-start up safety reviews as required

• Support PTW/SIMOPS Training when required
• Participate in and/or lead HSE Management System Audits
• Oversight of Loss Prevention Inspections (LPI), System Verification (SV) & assurance programs
• Monitoring of department Key Performance Indicators

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Broad technical and HES skills with in-depth working knowledge of SIMOPS / PTW commissioning and construction operations
• 15+ years broad-based HES experience including 5 + Years Permit to Work & Isolation Experience
• Must have, one or more, LNG, Complex Hydro/Chemical Processing, Hydrocarbon processing or Complex Hydro Metallurgical processing experience.
• Leadership experience Supervisor/Engineer
• Technical document writing experience
• Ability to read P&ID/PEF's and Electrical drawings
• Permit system development exposure
• Construction, Commissioning and Operational permit experience
• High level of proficiency with Excel, Word and Power Point
• Proficient with MS Access 2007 and above
• Very good verbal communication skills
• Excellent written communication and report writing skills
