The Company:
The client is a leader within the Automation and Control Systems field with operations in 100 countries worldwide. They specialise in providing integrated solutions to the Transmission and Distribution and Oil & Gas industry with projects offshore and overseas.

The Role:
An excellent opportunity is available at for a Commissioning Team Leader to join the Power Systems division. The purpose of this role is to provide assistance to the Commissioning Manager with the co-ordination and management of the commissioning process and also includes supporting the programming of commissioning engineers.

Main Accountabilities:

As a Commissioning Team Leader you will assume a wide range of responsibilities including, but not limited to:
Documentation & Planning:
• Creating technical documentation timely and accurately for DNO’s, National Grid etc. (conforming to each clients way of working)
• Produce Commissioning Inspection & Test Plans, as well as Commissioning Programs for specified projects
• Assist with the resource planning of commissioning engineers
• Ensure that all relevant test documentation is supplied to commissioning staff for each project and that all documentation is completed at the end of the project
• Produce and co-ordinate the production of method statements and risk assessments
Design & Testing:
• Reviewing design, installation, equipment issues raised
• Liaise with the commissioning engineers, planning engineers, project managers and site managers on specified projects
• Co-ordinate design changes during the testing and commissioning phases of the project
• Progress any testing and commissioning queries
Settings & Calculations:
• Carry out fault level and protection setting calculations
• Progress the protection setting sheet system (MARS)
• Produce NG thermal rating sheets, Protection and DAR schedules, etc.
Financial & Tendering:
• Assist with the financial management of the commissioning budget
• Liaise with the Tendering Section and produce estimates of commissioning engineers and commissioning management resource requirements for tenders
• Complete the commissioning sections of Design Intent Documents

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• HNC/HND Qualified or higher
• Proven experience in commissioning high voltage switchgear and associated protection and control equipment
• Strong experience of delivering engineering solutions to electrical engineering projects
• National Grid Person and BESC (however training can be provided for the right candidate)
• Team player, able to lead processes and operate in a multicultural and diverse team

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• TP141 Settings Authorisations (theoretical knowledge)
• Degree qualified
• Knowledge of NG Safety Rules
