The Role:
Develop and maintain good relations with relevant communities, village organizations and village authorities along the pipeline routes and above ground facilities.
Organize and participate in community meetings on miscellaneous topics, including community safety, raising grievances, recruitment of personnel, planned construction activities and planned activities, safety restrictions, etc.
Liaise with the existing Company Operations CLOs and Contractor CLOs to ensure alignment and track grievances raised and ensure that concerns are followed-up by responsible party till closure. This will include but not be limited to: registering complaints in a grievance log, conducting initial investigations and working with appropriate personnel to ensure complaints are responded to appropriately and within a reasonable timeframe.
Assist the relevant teams as required to ensure that the project activities are performed and completed in consultation with communities.
Closely interact with different teams i.e. Project team, Contractor team, Security, Land teams with regards to community issues and concerns.
Provide guidance on specific / localized community issues.
Manage community expectations and ensure recruitment benefit project affected communities.
Monitor activities of contractors to ensure adherence to social management plans (e.g. community liaison community safety, recruitment, etc.).
Provide coaching and deliver social training to Projects and Contractor personnel.
Work closely with Community Development Advisors in Company Operations to become familiar with community development issues and provide input as required.
Provide regular reports on social performance that include a summary of all community liaison, any issues and complaints.
Day-to-day monitoring of construction activities as they relate to social plans and ESIA & ESMMP requirements.
Develop daily and weekly summary social reports.
Participate and provide input in emergency response exercises, as required.
Liaise and provide advice to Construction contractor during construction and assist in transition to Operations.
Monitor compliance to pre-entry and exit land agreements with Landowners.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
University degree in social or economic sciences(preferred)
Experience in AGT region
3-year working experience in social and/or communications fields
Effective communicator and willing to listen to other perspectives to facilitate the decision making process
Excellent communication skills:
active listening skills;
ability to conduct public meetings and consultations;
ability to communicate clearly; and,
ability to deliver clear messages.
Conflict management: conflict management skills and experience in conflict resolution.
Ability to negotiate and reach consensus and/or compromise
Self-organizational skills - Ability to work effectively under pressure, and under minimum supervision.
Skilful in stakeholder engagement and community consultation processes.
Readiness for the frequent travel and working in the remote locations. Site based position in the Region.
