The Company:
Our Cleint is an international leader in both marginal field developments, in life-of-field engineering and in production support.

The Role:
Basic Purpose of Job:
Our client is looking for an experienced Competence Supervisor to contribute to key Training and Competence objectives. The successful candidate will supervise, lead and actively promote Training and Competence activities offshore to ensure a consistent approach. You will also provide support to the Onshore Training and Competence Team based at John Wood House. Offshore trips will be required.

Main Duties:
o Manage and support the In-House Site Based Competency Programme
o Provide support and advice to the Offshore Supervision with the In-House Site Based Competency Programme and any associated training to ensure a consistency of approach
o Responsible for input into the competence targets in conjunction with the Training and Competence Team Lead
o Carry out Verification of portfolios and support Trainee and Qualified Assessors with their candidates
o Support employees undertaking Assessor and Verifier qualifications
o Review and development of the In- House programme, as required, to ensure validity of plant, equipment and standards in-line with Company and Client requirements
o Monitor standards to ensure compliance with National Occupational Standards, where applicable
o Support employees undertaking the Supervisory Management Training Development qualifications
o Support Supervision with Mentoring and Coaching Trainees and Apprentices
o Working closely with Centre Focal Point and Training and Competence Team Lead to feedback and review Centre Processes
o Liaison with Awarding Bodies via the Centre Focal Point and Training and Competence Team Lead
o General advice and support as part of a multi-disciplinary team
o Onshore office days to complete inductions, training, coaching and support onshore Training & Competence Team
Health and Safety Responsibilities:
o Actively support Wood Group HSE culture and initiatives
o Observe candidates on HSE sections of their respective competence programme
o Actively encourage safe practice on site in line with our Core Values

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Education & Qualifications:
o Hold Assessor Qualifications - 9Di or A1 or D32/D33.
o Hold or working towards Verifier Qualifications L&D11 or V1 or D34.
o Time Service Apprenticeship or equivalent accredited training along with Relevant and Recognised Trade Qualifications.
Experience:
o Previous Engineering and Construction experience essential, Offshore exposure preferred but not essential
o Previous Supervisory experience preferred
o Previous experience in a Competence delivery
o Multi-disciplinary trade experience
