The Role:
We have an opportunity for an experienced engineer to join our Training Academy team to validate the knowledge of our employees who work on, or have access to the electricity distribution network through an assessment of operational competency.
With the safety of our customers and employees being critical to Electricity North West you will contribute to achieving this key objective through conducting interviews and competency assessment with a wide range of individuals to grant access to, or work on the electricity network. This will be supported by on site audits to validate the practical application of knowledge; contributing to the development and review of operational training to ensure training delivery is aligned to policy; representing Electricity North West on industry working groups and being a technical point of reference for the interpretation of company codes of practice.
This key role calls for an experienced and competent engineer with proven operational experience as an 11kV Senior Authorised Person (SAP). For the right candidate there is an opportunity to achieve a higher level of authorisation as a Senior Authorised Person together with Field Control Authorisation.
As the successful candidate you will:
• Hold a minimum HNC level qualification in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) (essential);
• Have a thorough working knowledge of operational Codes of Practice and Distribution Safety Rules;
• Have proven IT skills, including proficiency in all MS Office applications;
• Have proven experience in report writing;
• Be a team player;
• Be a member of the IET (desirable).
