The Company:
Our Client is an independent Australian oil and gas company playing a key role in supplying energy to our region. They are one of the world’s leading producers of liquefied natural gas, helping meet the demands for cleaner energy from Japan, China, Korea and other countries in the Asia Pacific region.

The Role:
We are looking for an experienced Compliance Manager, who will ensure all activities are conducted consistently with company values and safety culture. The ideal candidate will posses a financial background and have demonstrable experience leading teams within a large corporate organisation, preferably a top ASX 50 listed company.

In this role you will influence the company to manage effectively its regulatory compliance obligations, lead the development and implementation of the companies systems, processes and tools; and its organisational capability to manage the risk of non-compliance with regulatory obligations. In addition, you will provide insight and information to the companies leadership by appropriate reporting on the effectiveness of the companies management of regulatory compliance


Duties & Responsibilities:

• Ensure the companies Regulatory Compliance Management Operating Standard (RCMOS) is fit for purpose, and supported by appropriate tools and systems.

• Promote, and advise on, the consistent application of the RCMOS by the business.

• Participate in the design and implementation of new technology to improve the effectiveness of the companies management of the risk of regulatory non-compliance, and the integration of regulatory compliance management with other governance activities.

• Embed use of one corporately provided information system.

• Facilitate reporting to management and the Board relevant to regulatory compliance management and compliance with the RCMOS.

• Ensure appropriate assessment of organisational, functional and individual capability to manage regulatory compliance risk in accordance with company process, and develop and implement strategies to improve organisational, functional and individual capability.

• Consolidate knowledge of and coordinate (as required) the management of incidences of regulatory non-compliance with other internal stakeholders; facilitate escalation of knowledge of incidences of regulatory non-compliance.

• Develop and implement strategies to ensure effective regulatory compliance management of the companies international activities and operations, including supporting the assessment of the regulatory landscape by management of international jurisdictions.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Significant professional experience in risk related roles, with significant management experience included.
• Degree qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g. law, business management, finance, engineering).
• Knowledge of oil and & gas industry would be advantageous.
