The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
The Suspension System Architecture Deparment is responsible for the detailed design and release of the Sub Frames, Powertrain Mounting Components, Suspension Links & Knuckles and Compliant Mounting Systems (Bushes) for all our client's programmes. This will include: Engine Side Mounting Brackets, Gearbox X-members & transmission cradles, brackets, heat shields and snubbers, hubs, bearings, Hydrabushes. The componentry worked on will depend on which particular team is joined.

Key requirements of the job role: -
* Agree component/system targets (stiffness, strength, etc) with CAE team and attribute areas
* Develop component CAD within available package to meet component targets for function, attributes, cost and weight.
* Work with purchase team to manage supplier nomination and sourcing process.
* Manage supplier delivery of components to agreed cost, timing and quality targets through Commodity Plans, Open Issues Lists, Supplier Reviews and regular Supplier communication
* Achieve ALL program milestone engineering deliverables, robust component sign off (DVP) and Phased Submission Warrant (PSW) in line with Programme timing.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* Strong communication/teamworking/project management skills
* Self-motivated and able to deliver with minimum supervision.
* PC (MS Office) literacy
* Robust practical knowledge of engineering principles
* Project Management
* Candidates must be committed, flexible and able to work under pressure
* 2:2 Mechanical (or similar) Engineering Degree or higher

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
* Knowledge of design for castings, forgings and welded assemblies including manufacturing requirements.
* Working knowledge of Failure Mode Avoidance Quality Tools
* Understanding of automotive chassis systems is desired
* Track record of successful Project management and on time delivery
* Knowledge of either Sub Frames, Powertrain Mounting Components, Suspension Links & Knuckles, or Compliant Mounting Systems (Bushes)
* Experience of Programme Managament tools / GPDS
* Working Knowledge of WERS, AIM's, PACN's, Digibuck, RMDV2
