The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
As component engineer candidate would be responsible for the development and integration of multiple components (initially headphones, emitter and RSE remote) across all our clients carlines.

Responsibility will be primarily HW and project delivery focused. The role will involve working alongside Team Leaders to manage the Tier 1 suppliers through the design and development process.

The successful candidate will lead the management of HW related processes such as GRADE (HW design checklist) and DTs (harness connection information), as well as managing integration into the vehicle via packaging and other supporting functions and managing all issues through AIMS.

The candidate will be responsible for ensuring that specifications are translated into test requirements and that the supplier adheres to these, as well as authoring updated or new specifications. The candidate will be responsible for supporting weekly reviews with the supplier and escalating any issues to the relevant Team Leader or the Reporting To Manager if they cannot be resolved at their level.

In addition to seeing the first application into production, the candidate will also be responsible for managing the HW into other vehicle lines, working with programme teams and vehicle packaging to ensure robust reapplication.

Candidate may also be required to support development of Exterior Sound Synthesis and Next Generation Powertrain Sound Quality.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Electronic HW development experience and training Infotainment knowledge EMC
Infotainment HW development experience
Complex electrical project experience
Relevant Engineering Degree

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Knowledge of our clients systems greatly preferred - WERS, GRADE, AIMS, DTs, RMDV
Previous experience of OEM / Automotive tier 1 supply chain.
